Ammo for my iof .30-06

Post by TariqPathan » Tue Mar 15, 2016 11:30 pm

Need ammo for my .30-06.
Not the regular S&B 180 grain.
Looking for the 55/110/140/150/160 grain options.
Please advise you knowledgeable souls. Share your wisdom !!!!

Tariq, that's way off the spectrum ammo. Get your gun sighted for one kind of ammo and then stick with that.including the grains and ogive types of the bullets.

Tariq: Standard bullet weights as loaded by the factories include 55gr. (a .22 bullet in a sabot), a not very successful 110 gr. bullet for varmints, 125, 150, 165, 180, and 220 grain. You are not likely to find 140 and 160 grain bullets. Military .30-06 ball cartridges were 150 and 173 grain.

Thank u Hammerhead and TwoRivers for your wisdom.
Right now i have sighted it for 180 grain ammo. I got a few federal 150 grain. But somehow, ( maybe due to gut feeling) stuck to using just the 180 S&B .
And yes- it shoots really well, even at over 200 yards. [emoji12]!!!
