That reminds me of an experience I had once-

I had a business associate from South Africa stay with us for several days once. He had asked a few times what he could bring as a gift, so eventually I said a genuine African Safari shirt, so he got one for me. First thing I noticed was that it was made in China!

HI! anshutz gets a lot of apparel and shooting gloves made from pakistan. However their qc is very good. I had a shooting jackect made from Nilesh for my son cost me 12K . He uses imported material sparingly and the fit of the jacket leaves a lot to be desired though he had taken the measurements himself. The antiskid rubber he uses on the elbows is so pathetic that it dosent even last one season of prone competition. I dont see how he can compete at the international level. A friend of mine has a gehmann jacket which has seen years of rough use and the antiskid pads on that jacket are still good. Another big fraud dude to beware of is shymal das od calcutta - the guy makes pure junk. In my opinion all these guys are having a free run because the imported stuff is not easily available here and whoever gets its sells it at a whopper margin. None of these chaps even know the basics of cutting or tailoring which is a must for a person trying to break into this kind of business - In the end beggars cant be choosers though it was very hilarious to see the Indian squad rifle shooters at the 49th NSCC having slits cut all over their shooting pants and jackets as they had just returned from some international comp. and their apparel had failed as it was too rigid and stiff so they had to cut slits all over to reduce the stiffness ;) that itself speaks volumes

I haven't used his products (Gucci prices compared to Kutbi) but I have heard similar complaints.
