Winchester wildcat .22 rim fire Ammo

Post by PRITAM PATEL » Sat Nov 19, 2011 4:36 pm

Hello Folks

One dealer is recommending me Winchester wildcat rim fire ammo as a good one to me at Rs. 30 a pop.
on the box it was stated , hi velocity ammo and 40 garin bullet weight

Does anyone has any experience with mentioned ammo ?

I also would like to know about its performance with IOF .22 rifle....

Kindly share your experience about its velocity and accuracy

regards

Winchester wildcat is a cheap ammo and more useful for general plinking than any accuracy work.

That said, I would try some, because with the 22LR, barrel to barrel there are small differences, and one can get surprising results sometimes.

I once used some cheap Remington ammo in an Anschutz and it outshot the highest quality Eley 10 x.

Skeet shot pretty much covered it all.
I haven't had good luck (accuracy wise) with Winchester Wildcat ammo in my rifle or pistol but your particular gun might like it. So it might be worth it to give it a try.

I have a box or two around here, right now it is deer season but when it is over I will shoot some over the chronograph and some other brands I have, and then I'll post up the velocities here. Just give me a little while, as deer season runs through December 4 so I want to keep loud noises restricted as possible until after that.

I will agree with the above though, 22 rifles seem to be more particular than centerfires in regards to ammo and you should try different brands for each gun until you find one it likes.
