Further to my post above, i bought a army disposal scope for about 150/- at the scrap dealer about 15 years back. the IHP35 with scope, served me well for about 4 years till I gave it to someone.
I think you should locate scrap dealers who buy the Army optical scrap. you would be surprised to see what all u can get- range finders - telescopes binocs. at the cost of peanuts.

When used on a HW77K, the scope obviously cannot take the recoil. Its made more for a rim-fire, I guess. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Swarovski and S&B (and Ziess) don't make any scopes that suits air rifles either in terms of taking air rifle recoil or parallax adjustment down to 10 yards. Not sure about Nightforce, but Leopold makes two EFR scopes for airguns. Most Falcon and MTC scopes will suit airguns.MoA";p="53992 wrote:What is your budget. With scopes you pretty much get what you pay for.
Want a really good scope? Go with Sarvoski for a hunting style one.
Want a more serious one? Schmidt and Bender or Nightforce or Leupold.
Cheap and will not break? Falcon Menace.
Most serious shooters, at least in the BR or LR game tend to spend more on the scope than the rifle.
Banner has one model for airguns- 4-12X40. See link- http://www.bushnell.com/general/riflesc ... eral%20UseTenX";p="54009 wrote: .. My personal experience, and all I can input - Dont try a Bushnell Banner on an air rifle![]()
On Bushnell's website, the scopes suitable for airguns are mentioned as such. All Elite scopes that focus to 10 yards are suitable for airguns.
Keeping the cost of IHP in mind, 4X20 is actually a suggestion worth considering. The new Walther 4X20 and 3-7X20 ae actually quite good.

Matter of fact, the listing de.scription does mention "...Also ideal for adult break-barrel airguns...."..Mack The Knife wrote:Used it on a HW97K and the bloody thing went tits up. ...but when you do a 'Buy Now' and scour the individual item de.scription, there is no mention of air rifles! ( http://www.shopbushnell.com/product_det ... BSN+714124 )

When we click on individual items on the Bushnell website, we are led o the generic de.scription/features of the model range- in this case 'Banner'.
Since Mr. Mack the knife has tried this model with negative outcome, better avoid this. In addition, I must mention that I've had an unexpected shortcoming in a Trophy 6-18X40 used on an HW90. The elevation turret screws came loose. When I applied a small amount (a droplet the size of a pinhead) thread locking adhesive (Anabond) on the screws, the elevation knob adjustment became rough.
An Elite3200 4-12X40 scopes front lens coating on the inside surface is spoiling. I intend sending it for repair through a friend visiting me from USA. In the previous posts, there is adverse feedback on Bushnell's service. Should I let the repairs be, or should I send it?
On the other hand, an Elite 4200 4-16X50 is working fine on an HW90.

The Elite range is exempted, as no proof of purchase is required and the warranty is for the life of the riflescope, available to any owner.
Also, the scope will be sent from and returned to my friends address within USA, so that should make it easier for Bushnell.
About the Customs procedure on the scopes eventual return to India, as of now, I intend asking my friend to send it by courier. I will visit the postal customs shortly (for release of the CO2 that has arrived and the new Appraising Officer whose first case this happens to be is being over cautious!), and have a letter covering the scope's export and return shipment endorsed. In case you (or any IFG member) know the exact procedure, please let me know.
