You can not legally buy .22 rimfire ammo on a .22 Hornet license just the way you can't buy .22 Hornet ammo on a .22 rimfire license.

A .22 Hornet license only allows you to buy and possess .22 Hornet ammunition. If you are in possession of any other ammo then it is illegal and would attract penal provisions of the Arms Act, which are pretty harsh. It is not without reason that the Indian govt proudly proclaims that it has some of the harshest arms laws in the country.

Hi RP you can pick up winchester super X HP 46 Grn Ctgs from Chandigarh if you are this side of the country, otherwise gimme your LOC will find out if you can get them.MOA,hi am looking for adopters which will take the 22 LR Ctg in the 22 hornet. If i dont get them will have them made by my gunsmith 8)
In the case of the .22 Hornet, the cartridge is really too small to allow the use of an adapter with its own offset firing pin. Here the adapter bore would be at an angle to the rifle bore, allowing the striker to hit the rim of the .22 LR cartridge. It works, but does negatively affect accuracy, as the bullet has to make a slight change in direction as it leaves the adapter and enters the bore.
With the type of adapter that uses a separate striker mechanism, prolonged use can damage the tip of the firing pin, as it is striking hard steel instead of a primer. Cheers.

Leaving the question of legality aside, the .22 Savage High Power has a larger .228" bullet and bore, and a normal .224" diameter bullet is not going to be accurate; a .22 LR RF even less. Please go through this thread, as you may be going against the Indian law with this idea. Cheers.
