Dear Joydeepm,

"If you want to shoot , shoot . Don't talk .....", the statement from 'The Good, Bad & the Ugly',... u know under what circumstances it was said... if i modify it a bit... if u want to shoot... shoot... don't waste time in lasers...

Have u ever been in close encounters... I have been bang opposite to a Revolver pointed right on my face... person ready to shoot... point blank range... & believe me joydeepm... there is no time for lasers... that's when every milli second counts... one wrong move and u are dead... it's a game of reflexes... nerves... ur keeping cool... brain working damn fast... right decisions to be made in one go... no second chances/choices...

My humble advise is ... practice/aim without lasers... first on fixed targets and later on moving targets... generally u don't get fixed targets in many combat situations...

Rest is ur choice... ur life...

Best regards...

Dear ssmickey,

you are bang on target . The issue is that in India we get such pathetic quota of ammo every year that it is impossible to become a decent shooter for the civilian .

The laser question was on trying to find out whether it improves your chances on hitting the target if you are not exactly in top shape and practice - that too under specific circumstances .

Have you tried applying and pursuing the matter for increase in ammunition quota for "target practice"?

Just applied likewise at the DM Ghaziabad's office . His lackey mentioned that 700 such applications are pending . So I am waiting for the Godot .

An excellent article on laser gun sights.

I improvised and made a simple laser sight costing less than Rs. 500/- for my IHP National 35; 0.22 mm which is functional.

You may like to have a look at it at one of my posts on "Imporoving the National 35"
