Firing a 22LR in 22mag chamber is not safe.there are chances of the 22LR case splitting and releasing the gases which can be dangerous to the shooter.

Why take unnecessary risk of firing a .22 LR in a .22 mag rifle? Simply purchase a gun for which ammo is readily available in India. One has great choices in Pistols and rifles for .22 LR why complicate things follow the Keep it Simple Stupid KISS principle.
