Hello ,Friends.One of my acquaintance recently bought Shaktiman Express Super Magna No.6 cartridge for 120/- per piece .Uploading some pictures . Enjoy..

I have heard about 4.8 but is inferior to Astram no 1 of Ordance no 6 seems to be new product.

4.8 has got bigger pellets but only 32 grams. Astram Magna has got 34 grms of pellets and more powder..My late uncle had opened one 4.8 cartridge few years back..Astram wad is not easy to remove without damaging the cartridge.No. 6 is super magna but only 32 grams . Vineet Sir had uploaded a photo of 6 no cartridge which had 35 grams payload.

Shaktiman produce very good quality 12 Bore cartridges.
They leave very little residue/powder in the barrel, when fired.
The recoile is stronger as compared to KF cartridges.
I am informed these are loaded with superior powder, which helps in accuracy and range.
The No.1 cartridge has 3.63 mm balls, approximately 110 in number.
The 4.8 cartridge was introduced into the market to overcome the ban on LG (5mm).
This cartridge has approximately 50 balls in number of 4.8 mm each.

You are right about the ammunition .Shaktiman Express has greatly improved their ammo over the past few years. They are now using imported powder and primer. My uncle has got this new lot of Super Magna number 6 of Dec 2018 manufacture last week. 4.8 cannot overcome LG shot in its purpose and I would use slugs or ball if situation demands so but not 4.8.

Shaktiman 4.8 is as good as SG or close to LG up to 40-45 yards if fired from 32 or 28 inch barrel but LG have lethality even at 125-150 meters not yards killing capacity up to 200 meters if fired from long barrel gun .Shaktiman rifled slug and hollow point is as godd as any imported stuff rifled slug is very powerful but howwolpoint is very very dangerous I personaly feel avoid using these 2 as defence except in very extreme situations like armed dacoity or armed mob attack .
