12 Bore Ammo

I have seen numbers written on the bottom of 12 bore rounds. What does it describes?

Usually the bore of the cartridge and the maker's name. Sometimes year of manufacture.

Here you can see the manufacturer's name, the cartridge designation and the designation for the wad (AA) used.

Here is just the manufacturers's name and the gauge.

However, there really is no standard and the headstamp might contain useful information or it might not.

Looking at just the headstamp alone will not tell you a thing about this load.
