You really must qualify that question. More dangerous to what? Paper? Cardboard? Tin Cans?shooter123 wrote:freinds just tell me which slug is more dangerous is it spherical ball, hollow point,or a rifled slug?
OK I'm being a little facetious but since hunting is not allowed in India, I do not get the reason for your question or the reasoning behind your question.

I'm sure you don't have a gun license.
A fire arm in itself is a tool and should be used carefully let alone the bullet or slugs or any type of slug.

Make absolutely no difference , depending your use of it.hello members i just want to know which ammo is more suitable for home deffence purpose slug or bb or any other ammo(are they are differant for village and city)....thank you
What is more recommended for you is to join a gun club, shooting organization and stay on IFG - Hajihello freinds realy i am unable to understand what is 12 bore because in this site ifg told that 12 bore means 12 lead shots weigh about one pound then why we don't use that shot why we use bb,no.1to no.9 shot if we use this type of ammo in 12 bore then i think it is also fired by 16 bore then what is differance between these two realy i am confused.....

You are asking a question that has too many loose ends to answer in an honest and accurate reply.

Shooter123,
IFG was not created for people to ask questions when they have no use for the answers. If you had a gun and wanted to know what ammo to buy,I would be more than willing to answer that question.Since you do not have a license,a pre-requisite for owning a firearm, what are you going to fire the cartridge from?....a desi katta?
As far as your question goes, "Which slug is more dangerous?"
Ans.The one that hits you
Stop asking inane questions, develop a sense of humour and stop throwing fits when some one has a dig at you.Otherwise run back to your mama who will console her little prince.

Re: which slug is more dangerous?
Slug is not recomended for self/home defense because the main advantage of a shotgun over other weapons is that it can fire multiple projectiles which increases your chances to hit the target with one shot. If you use a slug in self defense then you are giving away this benefit. Also keep in mind that although a shotgun firing multiple projectiles will produce a spread much larger than a solid projectile, it does not preclude the need to aim.shooter123 wrote:freinds just tell me which slug is more dangerous is it spherical ball, hollow point,or a rifled slug? ...i am asking this question for self defence
I am assuming that by spherical ball and hollow point you are reffering to the ones made by Shaktiman and rifled slug made by Clever Mirage. Now comparing the two companies Shaktiman stands nowhere near to Clever Mirage
in quality. Clever Mirage slugs are quite accurate.
Also looking at the shape of the slug, spherical ball slugs has a very poor sectional density (SD), and consequently poor penetration. Where as rifled slug have a blunt lead bullet that is solid in front and hollow in the rear, like a shuttlecock, it has its weight forward which allows it to fly through the air to its target with reasonable accuracy.
Note that contrary to popular belief, rifling on slugs actually impart little or no spin to the slug as it travels through the air. The actual purpose of the rifling is to minimize the friction on the barrel and provide some space for compression if the slug had to squeeze through a tight choke.
