Hi,
After the new Arms Law of 1959 was put into practice, somewhere along the line it was decided by the Government that no Licenses would be given for the manufacture of rifled firearms or for their ammunition. Only those existing Licenses for the manufacture of smooth bore arms (SBBL DBBL and Muzzle loading ) and their ammunition was allowed to continue and no new licenses were issued. At the time that this happened their were only a handful of companies that manufactured these privately and for ammo I think it was only this one Shaktiman that remained till now. I was told from a good source that even they import the primers from abroad.

Regards,
Anand

Hi thanks a Anand for the reply now i understand...can believe we are stuck with this shit law.Hope something or someone changes.Imagine how many good things can happen with a more relaxed law.So many jobs, revenue for the government and new technology can in our own country. With private sector in the market we can produce better guns and ammo for our people and the army...no wounder USA makes some of the best guns...
