Availability of different caliber ammos

I would like to know from IFG members the availability of these following type of ammunition in India'

1. 0.357 magnum
2. 0.44 magnum
3. 0.40 s&w
4. 7.62x25mm Tokarev
5. 0.50 action express
6. 9mm short(is it np bore)

Please do mention the availability easily, scarcely or definitely not

No issues where I am.
In India there might be issues with all of them. I do not know.

Ammo availability depends on your location. .357 Magnum is virtually impossible to get, .44 Magnum is in the same boat and you might have higher chance of seeing a Bigfoot than finding .40S&W and .50AE in India. 7.62x25mm Tokarev can be found in some places. Speaking of 9mm short (Commonly referred to as .380ACP), it's NPB in India. .380ACP ammo stocks are drying up and price is increasing but it's still somewhat easy to find.

hi ramandeep among these cartridges only 7.62x25 is easily available nothing else.and that too of only one manufacturer S&B of czeck republic.9 mm short(380 acp) was available but its dried off from market and i dont think it will be available in near future because i think it might be listed on import list of cartridges but now if some dealer is heaving he is selling above rs400 a piece thanks

Thats what i suspected although most of these cartridges are hard to find I wonder why do the guns which use these types of ammunition are sold at sky high prices, of all the cartridges that i've mentioned i guess only 7.62x25 tokarev is pretty reasonable to find but i've come across a chinese copy of tokarev pistol & the dealer was asking 6.5L for it is the price reasonable enough. Like priyan mentioned that .357 magnum is virtually impossible to get still i've come across a revolver of .357 caliber & the asking price was 8L. I don't understand why things are like that, I myself have a Mauser rifle for which the cartridge required is 9.3x64 brennekke which i am not able to find the specific cartridge although 9.3x62 can be found but that would be shorter for my rifle, the price quoted by a few dealers for my rifle is they say between 1.25-1.5L & they do say that if the cartridge for my rifle is available it could fetch anything between 4-5L.
My whole point of giving the example of my rifle is the comparison that because of the unavailablity of a cartridge the price of my rifle is depreciated then why it is not with the handguns.
