Hi guys,
over the weekend i made a leather sheath ,as a first attempt excuse for the finish. The following pics are self explanatory, hopefully would be useful to someone who may try making one,and you can save a lot of money,it costed me 300rupee of material, which i can use to make another 10 small sheaths

,stiching ,marking, shaping with water (can be used to give shape to leather for any kinds sheath like zippo, small folders etc),dusting the garbage etc are all covered..

Good job.
One suggestion/tip to all who want to attempt it.
before punching holes, stick with gluestick/clamp the two pieces together so that they dont slip away and the holes line up.

Very nice work there.... ! Congrats...
I have also got inspiration to make a few for myself.... your strategy of drilling holes into the leather and then simply sewing it up, is brilliant and has reduced my botheration and therefore lethargy of going to a shop which would have a heavy duty sewing machine... !

Sanjiv,
Nice work.A couple of questions if you don't mind me asking
1.What sort of snap fasteners are those and what did they cost?
2.That drill press, does it use a hand drill and where did you get it from and the cost?
3.Where did you get the leather dye from?

thanx winnie!
1.they are the spring ones.cost of 6 is Rs 30.
2.the drill station is a nice lil attachment for your hand drill.I had got it a year back for Rs 2000 in Pune, its always helpful as it cuts out your expenses to buy a drill press for your home workshop if you already have a handdrill available and it frees one hand to concentrate on the job in hand and get precice holes. The brand is named- TORK-CRAFT tools.
3.you can make any dye in home with soft wood. The one in my work is the bolster

.
hope that helps, now come out with your creativity
regards sanjiv
