Well as per as the law goes, 18cm or 7.1 inch is allowed. But you know how these custom guys are, it's not supposed to be a problem but I would keep my fingers crossed anyway.

Heyyyyyyyy Zake , tirths et al , finally strated with my first buy...a new Nieto bowie knife ...purhased it from one of our IFGians....Mr Bandukwala of Banduk Bhandar Indore....still I am interested in collecting a boot knife....may be Smith & wesson...

Hi m24, thanks for the complement....I got it at 2300/- ofcourse including postage. Typical bowie blade..serrated on one side with sharp point...somewhat heavy but fine piece. Mr. Bandukwala was very cooperative in sending me the list of available Nieto knives & I selected one....will surely upload the pic soon ....regards

What about the quality of the steel?? Will a person get the same quality as found in Gerber, Spyderco blades??

and i dnt knw the brands u mentioned as im not much of a knife guy still i do know a little about khukris as im a garhwali and i happen to own 3 khukris (2 sirupati and 1 angkhola)

Check the net, you'll find them.

As for the steel mentioned by you, please note that EN 45 is a manganese spring steel. That is to say, it is a steel with a high carbon content, traces of manganese that effect the metal’s properties, and that it is generally used for springs (such as the suspension springs on old cars).

Whereas Spyderco, Gerber and other known international knife makers use 440A stainless steel, 154C stainless steel, CPM S30V etc. Just to name a few. Hence the prices are quite high depending on the grade of steel used and the finishing and treatment it receives.

Sure, both are knives, be it Indian or be it made by Spyderco. But there is no comparison.
