you can easy import it

I would always advice to invest little bit more in knife, you always get what you pay

There are some really nice boot knives available out there.

I personally like this one:

The classic shape of the Applegate-Fairbairn boot knife as executed by Boker:

or the famous AG Russell Sting made by CRKT:

in my experience it is not difficult, if you are not going to broken any law why it should be a problem. very important get it insured, once I have knife in Delhi foreign post office on hold for 17 days, after they released it. I called them few times and they told me to come to Delhi, I said are you kidding ... why should I. If parcel is insured they treat it differently.

to learn how to use boot knife or neck knife may be much more difficult then import it. Hardly in India you can find some one who can teach that and most of DVDs which are sold on Internet are just commercial versions, often completely misguiding. There is one great Japanese master of concealed edged weapons Masaaki Hatsumi, see if you can find some of his tapes.

Professor,
Have you tried 20North.com? I have never used this service so I don't know how legitimate it is.

The Smith & Wesson boot knife you mentioned before is available from them.

The Applegate-Fairbairn knives from Boker are here:

Yeah! I know , they have a very good collection of knives...and I am in touch with them also.....though they are very prompt in their services I am not sure about the safety as they need credit card numbers for the same ...apart from that this is my first experience of importing any knife hence I am not sure about their capability of handling customs department......I will prefer to buy it from any Indian Arms dealer.....anyways thanks again for the advise...regards

They asked me to sort out the knives first, from their list, to varify whether those r under permissible category or not..& then they told me to place the order for S/W boot knife...I haven't place the order yet...is their any legal prohibition on procuring knives from any Indian Arms Dealer by courier ....
