Experts, Kindly enlighten me on - What Is exact import laws for Blade Weapons!? What is exact laws for making and selling and exporting Blade weapons within the India!? Also, what is the legal instructions for trading and possessions of same?

1. Non-sharpened weapons, including swords, daggers etc. are not considered arms and it may be manufactured/sold freely.

2. In case of sharpened weapons, the permissible limit varies from state to state. The maximum permissible length of sharpened weapons varies from upto 9 inches in some states and it can be as low as upto 6 inches in some states. It is always advisable to stay below the 6 inches mark. This does not applies on tools meant for general domestic purpose.

3. Exporting is generally no trouble but sometimes ignorant customs officials ask for an NOC from the Commissionerette; and it is better to give it to them than educate them that they don't need it. For one time export you can use the services of any exporter/clearing agent. For regular exports you should consider getting an IEC (Importer/Exporter Code) from DGFT/Customs.
