after being silent reader on this forum i have signed up being knife crazy from my childhood i have obsession for knives and guns my dad had bichuva knife .That bichuva knife is given to his big brother who says its lost so i never seen the knife it sparked my knife crazy feeling i have collected some knives which i will post later so i want to buy knives i have looked on to cart2inda.com and oliveplanet.com which is costlier than other sites like amazon.com but amazon cannot ship to India so some one suggest me websites to buy sog seal team elite or a bichuva

Welcome to IFG's sharp n shiny section. Knifecenter.com , and knifeworks.com ship knives to India, you should check them out. As a general rule, avoid poor quality Chinese junk -- though these knives look appealing, they are UNSAFE. It will take you a few months to digest information in this section, so I'd suggest save up, and get a good knife. What knife qualifies as being good -- read threads here, and you'll know. Yes, there is homework to be done.

thats very true as choombak pointed out ...chinese is junk except for their innovative designs ..a bichhua will cost you around 3-5000 depending on the condition..

As a knife lovers, I am always willing to get the information regarding various authentic utility knives.
The bichuva knives are the fixed blade knives which have a curved drop point blade.
I guess that these seems to be the one the farmers use for cutting their crops.

This term Bichua / Bichuwa / Bichuva knife has sort of fascinated me from childhood. The term 'Bichua' means Scorpion in Hindi, yet it seems that this knife had it's origins in the South of India?

I have come across people in the south sometimes (loosely, perhaps) refer to a Rampuri style knife as a Bichua.

The bichuwa or bichawa (Hindi: बिछवा, Urdu: بچھوا‎) is an Indian dagger with a loop hilt and a narrow undulating blade. It is named for its resemblance to the sting of a scorpion, for which the Hindi name is bichuwa. The weapon was based on the maru, or horn dagger created by the Dravidians of south India, and many bichuwa have blades which retain the shape of buffalo horns. Early examples of the bichuwa come from the medieval southern empire of Vijayanagara. Being relatively easy to make, the bichuwa has persisted into the 20th century as a decorative dagger.

The bichuwa usually has a narrow recurved blade and a simple looped handle which may be cut with chevrons. It generally measures just over 30 centimetres. The handle sometimes loops into a knuckleguard. The all-metal hilt is often cast in one piece. Medieval bichuwa from south India are typically decorated with the face of a protective yali (demon) on the hilt. Some have finials to the pommel or even protruding laterally as quillons or guards. A few bichuwa are forked or even double-bladed.
The weapon's small size meant it was easily concealed in a sleeve or waist band. A bichuwa was often combined with a bagh naka, either with the claws being added to the hilt of the bichuwa, or the blade being added to one of the finger loops of the bagh nakha. The former type tended to be larger than the latter. This combination weapon, known as a bichuwa bagh naka, was used by the Maratha war-leader Shivaji to assassinate Afzal Khan in the 17th century. Shivaji's weapon was named Bhawani or "life-giver", though some accounts suggest that this was the name of his sword.

the cost of knifes in cart2india, incls shipping and home delivery and they promptly refund the money in case of any problems.You can also select cash on delivery so that the onus of clearing the knife in case of customs problem is entirely on them. they do have a good selection of knifes to order from.
for good quality and cheap knifes, i trust schrade knifes. have two of those solid yet cheap knifes.
