Hi All,

After a fairly long wait and many broken promises,I have finally got this one in my possession! I personally would have preferred the San Mai bladed, one but this will do.
To the moderators my apologies on the attached photo size but just to excited with the new piece.
Will post better pictures via photobucket soon.
Many Thanks

Hi Mack The Knife,

Many thanks. I was offered a choice between the Cold Steel Khukri and this Trailmaster. But I chose this one instead. The cold steel khukri is made in south africa and is I think made of stamped steel. The cutting or shearing power demonstrated in the video is immense! But honestly IMO the Nepali khukris that some of u folk own are a class apart!...nothing short of amazing.

About this trailmaster,I would rather own the one with the San Mai Blade(samurai tech.) which is made in Japan. As its claimed to be 25% stronger, much more flexible and has better edge retention.Anyway cant complain as did not have a choice.

The blade design doesn't resemble the conventional bowie does it? Just a question from a non knife guy ;-).

But it'll be good outdoors that's for sure.

Hi Dev,

You are absolutely right. Its not a bowie blade in the true sense. Why they have then named it so,is beyond me. One thing for certain is that its fairly strong and has decent chopping power!

Take care//

The original Bowie knife supposedly looked very different from what passes for a Bowie knife nowadays.

More of a hog sticker, GG.

See posts by a chap called Andre in the knife section on Accurate Reloading.

This guy really knows how to present and take pics of his knives as well.

Interesting article Dodger......it`s always good to learn something new.
It`s quite statling to realise that several of the `original` Bowie knives look remarkably similar to my Sabatier kitchen knives ....... although as the Bowies were butchers knives it shouldn`t be too surprising.
