Blades on camera ..... TC

Have been collecting blades for years but never really bothered to shoot them... though photography remains a pastime. Have been doing a few shoots recently but only selected blades with appeal of some sort.... Hope you guys like the results... Adding captions only where necessary.
Camera used : Wife's Canon ixus because of its brilliant lens and low light performance. Used Photoshop for final results.
The 1794 Madras Infantry officer's sword I collected years ago...
The Austrian Glock field knife a friend presented recently.
Fairbairn Sykes.. the famous British commando knife
Dad's bowie..came from the US... This blade is special..
AK 47 bayonet...This chap is a fake... but looks cool.. brother got it from China !
The Victorinox Kirpan
Closeup of the Kirpan
This is a folding knuckle knife bought in Korea years ago. 44C blade and stainless steel grips..
The Fairbairn Applegate fighting folder... gift from a dear brother..
WW II German paratrooper knife bought in Sholigen... blade is free flowing, uses gravity or a small swing of the hand to open or close
A traditional French folder .... but made in Spain
Skean Dubh.. a traditional knife acquired from Scotland. Highlanders used to carry these inside the socks worn with kilts
Pair of Balisongs... The black one is a Muelay... I bought the steel one from a knife maker in Manila.
Handmade Kris bought in Malaysia... The ones with more etchings and better steel are frightfully expensive
Muelay axe... real tough one.. comes with a high quality leather sheath
The Glock field knife in the outdoors
My EDC gear... The Izula was a gift from my dear brother Moin....
A Nubian knife I picked up from a village at Aswan, Egypt
Couple of throwers I picked up for a song in either Hong Kong or Manila... the broad head is a beauty...
Dad's Kuhkri...
Picked up this one for some 100 INR from an old woman at the night market in Temple Street, Hong Kong. The lock is at the top of the frame !
Vic made this one for Mauser...
This is the only Wenger bought in Switzerland. I used to have a craze for Victorinox.. had at least a dozen more... made perfect gifts during recessions
Not too many people may have seen these Vic type knives issued to soldiers of erstwhile USSR. This one and the belt was actually sold by a soldier in Berlin when the Wall came down. The solders were trapped for weeks before they were flown back. Many sold their kits to people looking for souvenirs
Look closely... USSR is marked clearly in the middle of the grip
Stilettos always caught my fancy. The small one bought from a small shop in the Reunion Islands is three times more expensive than the big one bought in Rome
The Shin Gunto... a WWII Japanese katana issued to NCOs... Have given it away
A Muelay fighter that went as a gift
Dad's salvaged this Khukri from somewhere.. the sheath and grip were missing. He got the sheath made from walnut and made the grips himself with high grade ebonite
That's all for now ... there are more blades but too ugly to capture imagination ...
