picked all of these when rummaging through a couple of shops selling old stuff... its makeover time for these beauties...teaser pic

the bichwa is the first one to go. actually the second one. have restored one of the friction folders to the best of my ability.
the bichwa had both good and bad things going for it,
bad stuff - bevels not forged properly, rough finished with a file, no HT whatsoever, shaky guard, bad handle ergonomics.
good stuff - spring steel and not MS, one mean looking shape

so this is what i did,
new handle
HT'd
removed all tool marks and most forge marks and rust pittings
new handle
polished the blade (on its way to a mirror polish, at 1200 right now) handle - brass bolster, horn, "Moin ivory" , brass highlights and a brass cap at the rear end.
P.S. - only decent picture that i could take. will post better pics later.

Marthandan..... greaaaaatt job The handle is awesome.
Among the ones you shopped, I had the one at the bottom.. cheap one. I gave it away... But I am sure you will do a marvelous job out of it

Fantastic work as always Marthandan. For the sake of everyone, I'm no Walrus or Elephant to grow Ivory (Used to be over weight at one point in time but not any more lolzz).. Marthandan is referring to Corian, an artificial material made by DuPont.

Great work, as usual. But I agree with kalashnikovcult above - give the handle a slight "S" curve.

@ TC da...thank you. not sure if the rampuri is worth restoring. the blade material is MS (junk)
@ brihaji...thank you. sand till they are gone. i couldnt remove them completely as that would have meant no blade at all.
@ essdee...thank you. i think kalashnikov meant an horizontal "L". never a fan of that handle shape. moreover, the bichwa is an indian design (AFAI could research). the mughals adopted it later and gave it their handle.
