Indians For Guns

I had posted a random thread on another forum asking about gentleman's fixed blades as I find myself gravitating towards small fixed blades for EDC. This gentleman is a member of the said forum and gave me the link to his website. They are pricey but don't seem expensive considering the gold and ruby inlays and the frankly magnificent hand made engravings. I do believe these are the prettiest little FB's I have seen in a while.

They are beautiful knives, works of art and probably worth the price but I just can't see paying that much for a knife.
Yes, I know that I am missing the point but I have a hard time seeing a knife in the same way as I would look at a painting or other work of art. I could buy a new, perfectly functional $50 knife every six months, break it or lose it and still be ahead sixteen years later. I tend to look at most knives (and even most guns) as tools.
Actually that's about what I do. I buy a pocket knife at the rate of about one a year, use it heavily every day and then get a new knife the next year. If it gets damaged or broken, I just get a new one. I cut a lot of wire and rolling/nicking of the edge is just what happens.

Absolutely agree. For me utility holds primacy always. And honestly I don't see myself throwing down for any of them. But l But i have just got into knife making as you can see in another thread I started and I would like to see myself making something like them

I absolutely subscribe to the user argument you make but you do say "most guns". That's how I look at most knives.

Yes I saw that thread and I must say that you are off to a good start. Having a worthwhile hobby is a necessity, even if it is only worthwhile to you. I certainly applaud your goal to makes knives as good as Mr Cowles and eagerly anticipate many threads about your future projects.

Ah! You caught that. Obviously there are some "tools" that I would not be able to bring myself to use and abuse. However, I don't own anything of that value.
