Indians For Guns

Now that certain enablers on this forum have started to get me interested in edged weapons, I have been paying more attention to the knife sections in other forums.
There is guy who regularly posts of SIGForum who makes his own knives.
He has a certain style and many of his blades are similarly shaped. I just thought I would share some of his posts with you guys.

On a serious note I thought you are referring to Bob Dozier's Blades and this is a probably a typo I am sure I have seen a few of these in BladeForums. Thanks for sharing the links XL.

You should check out the Custom Blade Makers Section of Bladeforums if you really want to see some outstanding cutlery.

P.S; Just curious XL, is there any specific type of blades that people who carry concealed firearms prefer to carry as a back up, or rather do people who carry concealed pistols or revolver carry blades as back up or prefer a smaller piece like a derringer or something similar as a backup.

Dear Hobbit,

I checked out the first three knives and they are a far cry from being Doziers. Plus the guy's handle is actually Dozer.

Dozer appears to be influenced by Kiku Matsuda's designs.

Gandalf the Wise, wish I could write a clearly and eloquently as you or Slingshot. What I meant was when I saw the topic of the thread I thought XL's referring to Dozier's blade, Hobbit's not as dumb as made out to be O wise One

XL, you must post pics of the Gerber Boot Knife with the OD Handle. You used it as a prop for your artsy fotos for your hand cannon. This deserves a place in the Sharp Section.

P.S; Just curious XL, is there any specific type of blades that people who carry concealed firearms prefer to carry as a back up, or rather do people who carry concealed pistols or revolver carry blades as back up or prefer a smaller piece like a derringer or something similar as a backup.

Most of the people who I know who have carry permits carry a knife and a flashlight. Most of them carry folders. In the country and small towns, you will occasionally see people with fixed blades on their belts but not in the cities. In rural America, most of the farmers have a knife or a Leatherman type of multitool. Truckers also often carry small knives or multi-tools. During hunting season, you will see more people with fixed bladed knives on their belts.
The carry permit people tend to stick to small folders made by popular brands like Benchmade, CRKT, etc. The reason for this is that many cities have restrictions on blade length. Some do carry small backup pistols in a pocket or ankle holster. Some also carry a rifle in the trunk of their cars. Some have additional pistols in their cars for backup.
Personally,I carry my pistol and I have a knife with me but that is more for everyday tasks than for backup. The only time I have a gun in my trunk is when I am going to the range.

It's not a Gerber, its a no name Japan made knife from the 1980's in 440 Stainless. A friend said he would resharpen it and he really bunged it up. I will have to take it in and have it professionally cleaned up and sharpened and then maybe, I will display it.

xl_ this person not only can make knives but can photograph well,giving a good back ground for each knife.

I am only reacting visually. I like the Striped New Faith, The Bullgod and the New Faith XL. The blades seem reasonably versatile. I dont think they will be good knives for the jungle, but I think they will appeal to the fixed blade fighting category and will even do well in the kitchen. Enough belly for slicing and dicing. I do wish he made the handles more practical and ergonomic for these three knives.

Thanks XL, very interesting information. Very surpising to know there are restrictions on blade length even in America !!! I had read automatics are restricted to Law Enforcement and Military but the restriction on blade length is quite surpising. So is there a permit required to purchase blades more than a particular length..
