ooh very nice, :D Congratulations. What are the difference in the fixation series dagger and the SOG Daggert model made in the USA. apart from the cost and I assume this is made in China. How's the build quality of the Fixation Series of SOG knives ?

Regards
Moin.

O Ouch.. :cry: wasn't my first response when i got cut by the serrated edge of my knife (it was a pure moment of awe) while idiotically :oops: trying to cut an apple with it, which lead to an injured thumb and a plastic plate which was cut in half and i don't mean the cheap kind ( It was a nicely decorated & expensive plate as in words of my mother along with threat of confiscation my very beloved knife ).

to make it clear i just touched (more like felt the knifes serrations edge) but the wound made was thought to be superficial by me but it shredded my skin inner layers too... i was quite frankly shocked :shock: but extremely proud of my choice.

NOW for the knife part,, it is in a word awesome i put it through some things like a shoe along with the box underneath and in another case a limca bottle the handle is great nice grip brilliant material i.e kraton, i have held the knife while sweating profusely and it still held nicely in my hand.
the blade is great and as u know the edge is extremely sharp also the tip is dangerously pointy i mean i hitted the shoe two 2 three times and missed the centerpoint but all these times it went through and through the shoe including the time i hit it in the center point , i cant comment on the metal of blade until i put it through some more things (ideas please).

The sheath however is useless i mean the belt loop got scratched when i carried it concealed inside my pants also from the handle and material friction, i have gone through so much trouble and paid 1k extra along with the duty (warehouse and extra charges by fedex) i could have definately paid a couple of extra dollars for a superior kydex sheath.

i have oiled it with coconut oil ( Dabur vatika enriched oil Enriched for head, Enriched for my blade ) in one pic. for storage in its box ( Read somewhere in the forum regarding the oil {Thanks moin} )
Guys thinking of opening it up for modding if anyone knows the way or has found somewhere a link would be nice.
I am thinking of experimenting with paracord any one got any ideas what kind of mods be made to the dagger or the sheath using the paracord also can anyone tell me why there is a hole at the end of my sheath.

Hi Knife junkie;

Awesome pics. Please do not carry the dagger, you will be in big trouble if you are caught with such a double edged knife. Out of curiosity how did you manage to conceal such a large knife ?

Also the tip of such double edged knives are delicate unlike a clip or a drop point. You are likely to damage the tip stabbing things if you are not careful. The blade geometry is such that the broken tip will be difficult to mend.

Only mod i can think of is to strip the black coating on the blade ( I don't like them black coated blades), and 8Cr13Mov has a fairly high chromium content, unlike 1095 of the Kabar so the protective coating is not really required. Sharp Things Should Look shiny IMHO :mrgreen:

You can strip using commonly available paint strippers from Hardware stores.

Oh yes and the hole in the sheath is for running a cord through for tying it on tlhe legs so the knife with the sheath don't dangle while moving.

Regards
Moin.
