Re: Traditional Indian archery.
4-5 months ago i went to GOGUNDA fair in gogunda tehsil in udaipur district to buy bow and arrows made by the tribals. After reaching found no bows and arrows in the fair , the local villagers told that this year police is not allowing them to sell bows and arrows so i bought a sword instead.
May be i will go to bedeshwar fair to buy traditional bow and arrows . i heard many times that it is the biggest Adivasi mela in rajasthan. will start a new thread after i succeed in precuring a decent bow.
Also one of the staff member in my hotel is claiming that there is a guy in his village who make and sells bows and arrows but for that i have to wait till he goes home on leave.

managed to get my hands on a traditional bhutanese bow and 5 arrows. Its a very simple but effective design. About 25 poundage and 27" drawlength. Lovely piece. I need to find out more on its construction. Have shot with it. Its a delight. Would love to get my hands on bows from Shillong, Rajasthan and the Kuraichi tribe of Kerala.
