Hi Friends
reading moin's post i figured out that i need a trip to amritsar to get a khukri for me.
But i have two questions, please reply so that it becomes a more pleasurable experience:
1. Which shop/Shops are the ones that have best quality khukris, which can be used as a survival blade in case of a jungle camping situation.
2. What would be the price range for the best khukri?
just for information sake, i want a useable blade and not for ornamental purposes, want this blade to be the workhorse in my camping trips.
Thanx
Bullrick

Re: Best khukri Shop at amritsar
Hi Bullrick, I got this about 14 years back for 250 or so from the shops around goldern temple. The blades are made from Leaf Springs and are pretty good. ( Dig out Jonah's awesome post on Mizo Bowie Project)bullrick wrote:Hi Friends

Please buy one less than 9 inches ( it's ok in amritsar, swords are sold openly like in Rajasthan) not OKKK anywhere else. See if you can get ones with wooden handles instead of horn will be more comfortalble for use..
And please take lots and lots of pictures so we know what's available and at what prices these days...
Regards
Moin.

-Try B.Jawahar Singh and Co. Near Jallianwala Bagh .
I don't know about the quality but you can be a judge of that.
(If you wish to have the contact numbers of the above feel free to pm me.)
-A good, sturdy, usable one costed me around 300-400 bucks.
