Old Knife Restoration

This is a very old knife that I came across.
I am not aware of its origin or how old it is, but it was in a very banged-up condition when I received it.
The knife was rusted, had lost its edge and had some other problems too, but I just loved the knife so much that I decided to take it in and try to restore it.

This is condition in which I received the Knife:

Then I carried out my restoration process on the knife:

This was the result of the restoration process, and the knife is now in a pretty decent condition..

Some additional pictures of my knife..

I will now be working on getting this knife a good finish and a nice edge..
I will post the pictures knife when I finish my work on it..

I hope all my IFG friends liked this post..

HJD,

Nice work.No offense meant, but that looks a lot like the Kashmir made knives sold as souvenirs to tourists.I doubt it is an antique.

It is a Kashmiri Chhurri... to the best of my guess... :)

Hi HJD, what exactly did you do on the blade. Rub it with fine grit Emery Paper ? This is definately a Kashmiri Khanjar available at most Kashmiri Handicraft Stores.

Regards
Moin.
