proposal for an ifg members knife....

Post by knifejunkie » Mon Apr 16, 2012 9:13 pm

I would like to propose a knife made specifically for ifg members for which we can choose the design & materials by our self, we can ask a senior respected member of the forum to mediate a deal with a company like windlass etc i am sure they will make it for us with custom changes and ifg engraved on it if asked to do so in bulk quantity.i would really appreciate if members of the forum comment on my thoughts.

No hurts to anyone,
Old Wine In new Bottle, if you read the existing posts, that I do.
If I am not wrong, it was suggested by a member called , 'Mack The Knife'
Correct me if I am wrong.

> True, the idea was mooted a long time ago - but somewhere along the line - it went into the back-burner.
> High time this project is revived.
> As a starter I can shortly send pics of 2 knives that I possess-
1. An original 'solingen steel' blade with elk horn handle (a gift from a friend in the US)
2. An imitation 'folding buck knife' with steel blade - the handle is moulded rubber for grip + blade locks when opened.
> The reason for my suggestion is that these knives can be carried easily and are very functional (members are welcome to their views)
> If any of these are acceptable then I can get an engineering drawing done - to be forwarded to the chosen manufacturer.
> May I request IFGian Abhijeet to take interest in this?
Cheers
