Ordered a KA-BAR USMC on 24th from Ebay. Must say a great deal. As the link for tracking shows, shipping was super fast till it reached India. Now fingers crossed as is resting in Customs.

You never know about Indian customs. I was sure they would release it. Just was not sure how soon. Been a pain in butt in past.

I own Rambo knife which is 9 inch, I ordered from ebay and customs didn't create any problem. So it should work in your case too

Innallaha ma Asabireen. This means that Allah is with the patient ones.
Pics awaited, I'm curious to see the Kiridashi. When you do can you please photograph with a scale/tape so we have an idea of the size.

Finally the pics. I must say the knife is humongous. Feels like the knife outshines your personality and gives you a feeling of being very small and weak to handle the knife
I am not sure if that is the exact expression I am talking about but it makes you feel that you are not ready to handle it. different form all the other I had. Have a good feeling about adding this beauty to my collection.
About the kiridashi, I would definitely keep scale for comparison once I get it. I expect it to be here in a month as is coming as a gift with a relative traveling. Must add that I would not have bought it as its too small and simple to be an over $90 knife. If I spend $90 I can get better knives in better steel than the Todd Begg Kiridashi.

How wonderful discovershashank.
The full sized Kabar is a very large blade and the Kabar Short tiny. I recently handled a full sized one and was taken aback by the large handle. and uncomfortable grip. I do understand the pedigree and history behind the Kabar, but the uncomfortbly large leather stacked handles on the full sized ones and the tiny ones on the Kabar short is one shortcoming of the historical blade, I don't particularly like.
P.S: How much Custom Duty did you have to pay on the knife. What was the finally landed costs ?
Regards
Moin.

Well moon bhai, my name is shashank. Discovershashank is my fev id since I was a kid. Been using it for emails and forums since. The knife was a great deal on eBay. Search ka bar on eBay.in you will find it under 3800 bucks. Reached from US in exactly a week. I don't know but I find the handle great and comfortable. It is big and that's what impressed me. It's a must buy I say.

You right Bruno. The history is what facinates. I am just keeping this as a collectable not that I care for scratches or usr marks but I honesty don't have a use for it.
Waiting for the next season of zombie eclipse

Oops, forgot to mention, the cost on eBay is inclusive of custom and you get the complete tracking from day 1 till its in your hand. Just though this would help somebody make his mind
