I found these swords in the basement of my Haveli while cleaning. The're about 150 years old. I oiled them & there are plenty of them but due to lack of time, I couldn't unpack all of them at once. Will update as the time permits. Enjoy till then.

Lucky man you
I really envy people with large houses and more so people with large houses who find hidden treasures in their basements
Maybe Katatanji can throw some light on these finds so we all learn..
Katanji, where art thou ?
Regards
Moin.

Rare find. but pls excuse me for my ignorance. Isn't the blade angle (extreme right, bottom picture) too radical for a conventional Indian sword or talwar. The disc-shaped pommel and the spike at the end are typical of Indian swords but isn't the blade curvature more similar to a Turkish kilij. Please enlighten

Good find. They seem to have been made in Rajasthan. Hilts are in good shape but blades need to be worked upon. Please be careful when you do so or the 'jauhar' might be lost. if you need any tips on restoration please post accordingly and I'll guide you.
Also please post detailed pics of the blade (close ups). Maybe one to see the metal to comment on it.

I believe that Katana is the right person to guide anyone in restoring their swords.
He has revived this lost art and the craftsmen that specialise in this. Done a lot of good work here.
