Hi Guys,
Had a chat with Peter Hjortberger yesterday and these are the quotes he sends :
Indian credit cards are ok-as long as they're internationally valid-
Regular post is used, delivery time to China and Japan is 10 days.So he expects delivery times to India about a week or 10 days max.He hasnt shipped to India yet.

WM1z SEK 584,00 (around USD 83,50)

H1 SEK 1.072,99 (around USD 153,20)

H1/3G SEK 1.632,00 (around USD 233,20)

F1bl SEK 880,00 (around USD 125,75)

S1bl SEK 1.104,00 (around USD157,75)

By deducting the Swedish Vat, less 20 %, you get the export price, see our website.

Then, dividing with factor 7, you get the quotes in US dollars.

The air mail cost depends on the weight but 1 kg is at SEK 128.00, 2 kg is SEK 200,00.

A value insurance is at SEK 76,00.

We will put together a final quote after receiving your order. Consider to order a whetstone like DC3 or DC4 since all knives finally need to be resharpened...

We need your compelete address as well as your

card number
exp date
cvc code

My best

Excellent, Asif!

Now we need to design an IFG logo for laser engraving on the knives once we have enough members interested in this group buy.

Thanks and Cheers!

PS Was good talking to you and Abhijeet on the phone. Speaking in Tamil was a particular pleasure. 8)

I am definitely in. The NL2 looks very nice to me.

If it could be made with IFG logo.....

Best-
Vikram

Just as a distraction, would anyone like to guess which knifemaker makes the Krieghoff knife ?
And as another distraction, I can get hefty discounts on the Swedish Karesuando knives including the damascus blades.

Vikram,

Fallkniven offer laser enraving to any pattern that is commissioned with them. The IFG logo - once we have one - should not be a problem at all.

Grumpy,

It would be good to know about Karesuando as well. What I understand is that the Fallkniven products are somewhat expensive even in Europe and they may well be out of the reach of many members in India who might otherwise buy a knife if it didn't cost as much as a Fallkniven. I might be wrong in this but I do think that a lower priced knife might open the market a lot wider.

Cheers!

Mehul,
Good point, these knives are expensive, not to forget the duty that would push the cost up by another 35%.
Why not look at alternatives like Buck, they are a lot cheaper.US is a lot cheaper than the EU.
Thanks
Sanjay

Another 'problem' with the Falkie is maintaining a convex edge if the punters want to retain it's originality.

Sanjay, I was recently talking to Monty3006 and he tells me that customs duty may be as high as 70% on knives.
