Out of pure fascination, I purchased the ByrdRench, and boy, I am impressed with it. It has replaced my Sage 2 as EDC, though heavier than it. I see a nut, and I think the ByrdRench these days. Has a nice grip, and reasonable tolerances. I put a small plastic tube around the file detent, so that it does not rub my jeans pocket (not an original idea). Here are some photos for your enjoyment

Got it from knifecenter shipped to India directly. Cost me ~$140 US, including all.

Wow,straight out of " Terminator- Rise of the Machines". Very innovative design and cool factor. In terms of ease of use how does it compare to the standard multitool like a Victorinox or a Gerber, with the odd shaped handles and round pliers instead of the needle nose on the Victorinox. Great that the tool bits are stored in the tool, not to be carried seperately. How about a nice detailed review . Lovely photographs, did you click them or are from website ?

Yes, I find the design very innovative and appealing. It is a good general utility tool, and the pliers as well as the wrench are good to hold medium sized objects. The knife is razor sharp, and the driver bits are sturdy and precisely machined as well. But as you can see - the odd size of the tool makes it unsuitable for very "fine" jobs. I won't say it replaces the precision multi-tools, but does nicely compliment those. Most multi-tools have needle-nosed pliers, but lack a wrench. Since it ride a bicycle, I find the wrench very helpful.

The photos are mine, clicked on the desk I am sitting now, with auto-ISO mode (which is why you see the desk color different across photos).

Super hardware. Now if that Sage was just sitting in your drawer collecting dust...

No way - after a long and arduous search, and spending hundreds of $$, I finally found the best of the breed I could afford. The Sage 2. It alters with the ByrdRench, actually.
