Knifemaking anyone?

Post by z375 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 12:09 pm

Are there any members out here who enjoy crafting their own blades? If yes, please do post pics of some of your wares
"With solid bullets on heavy animals such as elephant, rhino and buffalo this power is quite apparent but is not so obvious as when soft-nose bullets are being used, say, lion, particularly when is a case of stopping a charge : the .404 will stop him all right, but will seldom crumple him quite so completely as will the .416" -- John Taylor, Big Game and Big Game Rifles, (Ch. IX)

A gentleman called Jonahpach comes to mind. Check out the thread on "Mizo Bowie". Some others, but my elderly memory gives up!
Cheers!

Can't say about blades as it requires specialised tools, but certainly handles for a couple of knife blanks that i have... !!

I am willing to experiment.... !!

Agreed, this is an excellent book to help one get started.
(you can see two of my knives in my signature pic, I don't have any other large pics that I can find at the moment)
