You can buy Gerber Prodigy and/or LMF-II ASEK knives at the Adventure18 store, Satya Niketan, New Delhi. These knives are currently in use by the US Armed Forces as survival/combat knives. They would cost approx Rs 6,000/- and Rs 9,000/- respectively. Other knives are sold there too, mainly Gerber and Victorinox brands.

One other store in Delhi also carries a couple of knives made by Gerber, the stores name I guess is Shraddha Outdoors. Not sure of the location.

Yes, the Gerber LMF-II is ASEK (Aircrew Survival Egress Knife, US Airforce) compliant, and possibly one of the best survival knives out there.

To the best of my knowledge ebay doesn't sell anything, it is individual sellers on ebay who sell their items using the ebay site as a platform. For this ebay charges a small fee from these sellers. The export/ shipping policies vary from seller to seller. Some sellers will ship anywhere in the world, other's will only ship within their own country etc. (some sellers won't even accept payments from buyers who are registered as being outside their own country).

There is no import restriction on knives as long as they are within the prescribed limits (less than 9" blade length etc.), import duty may be charged depending on the total value of the package.

BTW, please be careful while transacting on ebay (or any other online auction/ classifieds website), there have been more than a few frauds perpetrated on such sites as the website owner has limited control over the individual sellers. Best bet would be to exclusively transact using PayPal or some such intermediary payment service, as that way you could at least hope for a refund.

With respect to your all valuable suggestion I would like to share a experience of mine once I have been to simlipal tiger reserve(mayurbhanj district ORISSA)their suddenly I found my my self I need to clear my way by using my knife so I took out my knife and started clearing my way.Performance of my knife was very good.

That knife was made out of tungsten and chrome blade that I have procured from my local arm seller AT DAW & CO.(cuttack) when I told him about my experience he told me that those blade are imported from Germany and the handles(wood) are made by him only but believe that knife do not look less than any imported knife.

Every thing in knife depends on the edge and the quality of steel that you are using and for the cutting force the thickness of the knife is responsible(back side of the edge)

Each knife were machined individually after they are being forged and they were hardened and tempered up to 60HRC(300 Brinnel nearly)

Some times we can find some good steel blade locally also so no need to go abroad and throw some extra bugs so,needful is that we should have an keen eye what we are using and is the limitation of the article what we are having.

I am only taking of only individuals those who want to have one or two knives only I am not talking of collectors.
If somebody wants he or she can procure some good quality knives from local manufacturer also.provided that,that steel blade should not have high sulfur contain.But must be rich in chrome,tungsten,molybdenum,and silicon,and high carbon.

There are the users who would invest in one or two blades and use them. These people would also be interested in sharpening methods. Then there are the serious collectors who look for specific types of knives that fit into their collection pattern. They generally keep the knives mint in their boxes. Then there are people like me who EDC and collect. We generally keep two or three blades for use and collect the rest.
Any which way if you love knives that's enough!! It does not matter if it was made in India or abroad.its a tool that can help you in daily work and can even save your life.

there is certain danger for knife lovers, of which I've been a victim myself and I want to warn the others. It is called knife fetishism. such fetishism actively promulgated by Americans as it helps to make money. Even the whole knife fighting schools been created (like Kali Sayoc for example) with no other purpose like propogating knife fetishism and provide yourself with endless possibility to make money. In the past knife was first and mostly only mean to defend yourself and skills were necessary, it was matter of survival in daily confrontations with very skilled opponents. Now, suppose I want to teach knife defense, first question will be against what kind of attacks, well ... angry man charging on you in stabbing attempt with kitchen knife, most possible scenario .. so step a side and hit him hard with back of your fist, that is it. Can I make any money on teaching that thing, very unlikely so let complicate it and teach defense against 9 different angles of attack, then with 9 different type of knifes and then with two different type of grips and so on.

Recently I read one book called something like "Culture of Bull Shit", no sh--t that making life very complicated, like one saying on sancrtit - Nimitta viparittani - means - how did I get here.
