Hi Slignshot,

Briha Sir..you are absolutely right. Each has a story. Sometime in the future, I shall hopefully write a little note on each of them and what they mean to me emotionally :)

The Massive...Aitor Jungle King 1

Aitor Jungle King I has an 8 inch blade. The overall length is 14 inches. This is almost a hand sword. A knife on STEROIDS.

The Jungle King is a fixed tactically designed combat knife that includes a mini survival kit contained within the sheath and handle. The metal end cap is removable and the cast metal handle is hollow to provide a nice water proof storage compartment. An extremely well designed knife with the extras to make it an excellent survival tool. It includes the following survival accesories:
* Fishing kit.
* Slingshot
* Sewing kit.
* Scalpel.
* External applications.
* Nippers.
* Pencil.
* Compass.
* Mangesium pill.
* Pills capsule.
* SOS symbols.
* Signal mirror
* Ruler
* Latex tubes
* Nylon cord.
* Forker pole.
* Multitool skinner knife.
- Stainless steel injected handle..
- X42 steel blade (INOX 46 CR13).
- 85 mm double saw
- It includes policarbonate and fiber glass rigid case with sharpening stone and 8 meter of cord.

This is totally impractical knife. I have no clue why anyone would lug this monster around. And it weighs almost 1 kilo with the sheath. But, nothing can beat the sheer pleasure of fondling this zombie chopper :)

5.11 CUB Karambit

I had always wanted a Karambit. I initially homed in on the Emerson Karambit with the wave function. However, there are two things about the Emerson Karambit that made me hesitate. The obvious reason was the bill. Now, I am no stranger to the fact that we have to really pay a lot of money for great quality...but it was a large bill :) The second area of hesitation was the chisel grind. I am not against chisel grinds, but its not a grind that I am comfortable with. Doesnt appeal to me.

So, the next option was the 5.11 created by Steve Tarani, a JKD and Indonesian Silat practitioner. The 5.11 CUB is a lock back folder and even without the wave function, is fairly easy to open. Though I wish it had the wave function....Dil Maange More :) I also like the oversized ring so that it can be used comfortably as a knuckle duster. The blade is much more hawkish. The angle of curve is a lot more acute, giving it an almost talon like feel. It cuts like a hot knife through butter. Literally like any good Karambit you simply just do not have to work to cut at all. Simply a little motion and you have a deep cut. The housing of the blade is heavy and dense. So you feel like you have a serious tool and not just a light little knife.

All the good stuff is packed into a really light package. It almost weighs nothing. You can forget about it in your pocket and considering the size of this blade, it is really light weight. And the knife has a very slim profile. It is exquisitely crafted and looks wicked too :)

Briha Sir, loved the Balisong that you showed me:) Nothing beats original craftsmanship and the filipino beauty is for keeps. I have also seen your gorgeous knives on this forum...the khukuri, the bayonets...would love to see them in person sometime :)

Chief the karambit has always fascinated me. Is it more suitable for the Indonesiqn style of knife fighting or can be used as a general combat knife. Do you know of any good links for further reading. The Spyderco Civilian in a similar flavour has caught my fancy recently.
