I think it's best you watch a lot of videos on YouTube first
Then get yourself a few sharpening devices or stones of different grades

First try your hand on your kitchen knife, once you get a hang of it move to some cheap local makes before you finally try putting an edge on your priced sharpie

I would do the same if I were you. .

Here are some of the images of the knife. It is very much similar to my old first blood knife, except for bigger blade, single piece and hardwood handle

How good is this sharpner? It is designed for kitchen knives, but it looks easy

What is your suggestion on this?

It's a beautiful knife. .I like the way you used (intensionally or unintentionally) the feline scale to show size of your knife ROTFL ROTFL

About the sharpener, I would rather wait for comments from someone who has used it. .

Nice kitty you have Maverick! Seems to be in love with that knife!

And yes, great knife too!
Cheers!

Oh yes, because of dumb blade, I allowed him to play with it. With stones, you can sharp, but not evenly.

I had sharpen some kitchen knives and machete during my childhood. Tell me if I am wrong. I thought machines like the one mentioned above, sharpen the knife consistently. What is the disadvantage of machine over a stone?

That's a INR. 6700/- knife sharpener...

IMHO, it would be best that you try sharpening it on stones yourself..
using a motorized kitchen knife sharpening system will take off more metal from the blade making it weak...

Better go for a hand sharpener (like a Wicked Edge, Lansky, Spyderco) if you do want to spend on one, rather than a motorised one.
Cheers!
