USPS or United States Postal Service is pretty much like our Speed Post. In fact it plugs into our postal system and therefore highly not recommended. I have on several instances had stuff misplaced , lost or unnecessarily questioned. Better to stick to a good courier and pay that extra money.

:agree: , the tracking system is pathetic , impossible to check status plus way to slow and besides everything that actually manages to come thru gets stuck at customs. as bruno mentioned that usps and ups get plugs into our postal system, its our postal system which should be blamed more for the delays/loss

UPS is very different. It's a private courier like FedEx. They do a good job.

you are right Bruno ,I was under the wrong impression that UPS is like a postal service
But FedEx rocks!!! Got My XM-24 as committed by them dot on time.3 and half days flat.
XM -24 comes in a plain white cardboard box and plastic, no name ,no branding .
First impression: MAN its Huge.Silky smooth action .In the umnumzaan a small ceramic ball holds the blade so requires some initial force to overcome it. But this is is super smooth ,with the flipper and a slight flick of wrist and it opens like any spring self assist knife. Huge blade and obviously razor sharp. But the bevel grind doesn't show the perfect honing of the umnumzaan. Blue clip and standoff add some color( will take out the clip soon) . Obviously a little heavy for a EDC. Feels like a beast in my small hands. Like the "SPANTO" blade.
Here are the pics not to great quality , Photography is surely not my forte

Awesome Blades Rahul, congratulations again, I'm salivating :) What's your take, which one's better of the two and why. P.S: If you can photograph the knives against a ruler, it will help guage the size of the knives...........................................................I 'm in love with your CR. :)

Hi Moin. I think i got a little impatient and ordered the XM 24, if i had waited XM 18 would have been a better choice. XM -24 is a monster and more of tactical folder. I would say Umnumzaan is a perfect EDC, light, good fit in the pocket, perfect blade, superbly built etc. I would say Zaan is like a gentleman's knife and XM 24 an outdoors person's knife But then for sure hinderer knife has something bout it , built like a tank. Just love the flipper action.
will post pics along with a scale tomorrow
So Zaan will be the regular edc and xm 24 an occasional carry( thats answers bruno question) Or maybe i might exchange it for an xm-18 after 2 months and then it would be a tough choice :D

yeah as i said photography is not my forte... You only get to know the build ,material & finish quality when you hold both the knives in your hands. They are poles apart and a class apart ... a true piece of engineering art

I have a different experience here - I always order USPS, mostly Priority Mail International, or Express Mail. PMI costs a mere $15 for a single knife, while EM costs ~$28. I have always received goods via PMI in 3 weeks, while EM in 2 weeks - never any delay. EM also has a detailed tracking on the IndiaPost site. Typically my knife wants are not urgent, so it works beautifully. For a high $$ value, I always stick to EM (Express Mail), since it is tracked and insured (you can add more insurance as well). Low $$ knives come via PMI. Though yes, if I have the money to spend, I will opt for FedEx.

Hi choombak what a unbelievable coincidence .today morning the postman came with the delivery of the first shipment (beginning of aug it was shipped thru PMI) and I paid duty and got the delivery. unfortunately the tracking was very misleading. Plus dealing with Fedex I started over expecting and got impatient. So i very confident that the second package (shipped mid aug) should also be reaching soon.

I guess i must have got JK really worried . Anways all the best JK its should be there soon
