he had some problems with the customs
Can you please tell in detail about the "problems"?
he had to shell out arnd 1.45lak for it
Why 1.45 lakh for it? I think it is priced around $500 only.

AFAIK there should no legal problem importing crossbows. Unless you find out the exact legal "problem" created by customs, it is difficult to give any opinion. You can search this forum, there are some other threads were some people seem to have been interested in importing crossbows and probably have also imported them. You can try contacting them also to know their experience.

Congrats on getting ur new crossbow, I also have the same crossbow, but my right upper arm of the compound bow has developed crack, can u please ask GSmith if it can be replaced. Coz i don't think it will last longer.

Hi Talha,

By any chance did you dry fire your crossbow? And how long have you been using it? The one I bought comes with a warranty for 1 year, and I also had enquired GSmith if they had spares, and they said they have.

Vivek

Like any bow crossbow is a type of archery equipment. No license of any kind is needed for importing, purchasing, possessing or carrying a crossbow.

Hi Kenneth,

I too was interested in buying a Diana 460 Magnum, and I had called up Gsmith, but the response has been very poor. I talked with Prasath Kulkarni (GSmith) regarding the same, and he said, he will import one, but its been 2 months since I had called him, and still no response (even after reminding him through mails and calls).

Vivek

Commercial import of air rifles is not permitted in any condition, still members of IFG requests Mr Kulkarni for it. He just can't supply imported air rifles unless he personally goes abroad and is able to bring few pieces along with him.

If he can import, every other dealer can also import it and supply you.

Cheers

Hi Everyone,

GSmith also has a FOLDABLE cross-bow which I was planning to buy as its easier to carry and the draw weight is not too bad either. Does anyone have any feedback which they can share with me? I was planning to travel to Pune to buy it.

Regards,
Dhruv
