Importing Kershaw Black Clash from Amazon

Post by pratik.bjr » Wed Mar 12, 2014 8:28 pm

Hello folks!! I m new to IFG and knives and wanted to know if i could import assisted opening knives to India. Since its my first purchase I thought of going for something less expensive. Kershaw 1605CKTST Black Clash Folding Serrated SpeedSafe Knife seem to fit my needs. Now i understand its chinese steel but this the one i want. Planning to buy it from amazon global. Its price along with a lansky blade medic seems reasonable. Product dimension wise it fits the eligibility criteria(of 9 and 2 inches) but its the assisted opening mechanism which might pose a problem with customs. The items appear to qualify for shipping to my address when i added it to my cart unlike most knives at amazon. The price at Knife center however along with shipping is comparatively too high. How should i go about it. Your help will be much appreciated.

Hi

Instead of this, I would highly recommend you to purchase a simple leatherman multi tool knife if you are going to be ordering from Amazon.

In our lifestyles, a slick multi tool would be ideal for utility as well as for self defence in an urban setting.

Take a look at the skeletool while you are at it

Good luck

I doubt if AO will have any problems with the customs unless the description explicitly states so. Also note AO are not automatic knives and have a bias towards remaining closed, which makes them legal in most jurisdictions where automatics will be a strictly no no.
