Marthandan,

Slingshot, Moin, Bruno and me are going fishing on 25th and 26th May near the Cauvery. We can squeeze in one more, so why don't you join us? Bring the knives along and you can get the opinion of four guys in one place and have a good time fishing as well. If you can make it, PM me your e-mail address and I'll add you to our ongoing e-mail chit-chat.
Mack...i would greatly benefit if you could explain.
I have no credentials as far as knife making goes but I do feel you can do much better. Let's take your recent field knife. As you may recall, I really liked the initial blade geometry and that has come out well, though I am not so sure about the addition of the recurve. However, being slight, it probably wont matter or may even proove to be an asset.

For me, a knife's handle is very important and I feel you could have done much better. I have mentioned the points in the other thread.

BTW, are you wet-forming your sheath and if so, do you still find the retention to be just as good?

I must say... the man who made this site must've had true passion. Such a good site.

Now I know... what editing a post means.... LoL

well i kind of also have a passion for perfection so when i decided to make a knife i bought a piece of spring steel got it gas cut i the desired shape then got it angle grinded a little (dude ripped me off) then waited posted regarding it here for advice got some sound one, downloaded a bunch of pretty basic knife making videos from youtube accordingly got an angle grinder from my local fabrication workshop(wanted to pay rent but the guy was jolly and helpful) gave it the basic design shape, got it wrong them found out it is a very accidently made nice design, got a rough file, shaved off more of it to give it more fineness the used a b@$*@*d(not an abuse but the name of the file type) file, now will take it to a lohar for a little straightening and hardness etc.
