Thanks Raju.
Just begun my Knife Journey and trying new stuff.
More user than a collector. Planning to do scales on the Buck Mayo Kaala I have thrown down for.

I sanded the coat down with 120 grit first. Read that it would be better to keep the coating under the scales but I did not know the effect the stripper would have on the zytel. So I wrapped the scales in foil and reattached them.
Then I left it in the stripping compound for 15 Mins and then realised the 120 grit wet/dry sandpaper would mark the metal. So I shifted to a steel kitchen scrubber. The kitchen scrubber took of the coat without touching the metal and I think it has left the primer on it. There is this smooth grey finish on the blade and I think it looks awesome. I am undecided on whether to sand off the primer. Advice please?
As you can see I left the coat to match the zytel scales. The lines are not too smooth but that part goes under the scale anyway. And I totally see the value of leaving the coat on under the scales, living in a wildly humid environment. Hence the reluctance to sand anymore, also.
Feels good
Very nice Vasu !! Check this out done in the bEcker Forums. Drop point grinded to clip, jimping added..I've come to realise the practicality of carrying smaller blades for use as it's not kosher to pull anything large out in an office enviorment or hell even on a construction site, invites unwanted attention...
The Bark River City Knife's caught my fancy, what a nice little brute !!
Here's the Bk14
The jimping should be relatively simple to do manually with a small round file !!! And waiting to see your mustard and apple cider vinegar patina

Re: New Becker BK14 Eskabar
I've seen that one. I am not gonna grind down the tip to clip point because the drop point has far more strength and survivability. Not so good for fine work but I have other knives for stuff finer than the Eskabar can handle. Despite nutnfancy's long winded ramblings I think gimping is overrated. Especially on a small knife. One might even say Ethan Becker or BRKT would have put em on the knife if they had value.
The BRKT City Knife is nice but pricey. For that money I like their Essential EDC Knife as well. Will hold an edge better as its harder than the City Knife. If U wanna throw down $200 odd that is. Without shipping and handling and duties. The Pocket Bravo or The Bravo Necker will be cheaper but easier to keep. The convex edge is a b**ch to maintain. I would suggest getting some practice on a cheaper knife for convexing and maintenance before U plonk for a BRKT. And 3V, s35VN and 154CM are supersteels. U need better sharpening instruments to handle that.
PS the 14 in the pics belongs to thrilbilly on bladforums.

And a correction. Thrillbilly seems to have kept the length of the knife constant. I.e. the point of the blade has not moved lower or closer to the handle. This might actually make it stronger.
