The Recon Tanto is a great knife. I have one. I guess when its not oiled and safe in its box it would be quite a handy knife to have around for hacking types of cuts and also for prying. I really don't know its use in combat. Maybe someone with a martial arts background may be able to shed some light. Anyway its a very nice and well designed knife with clean lines and a good balance. The Sheath is also very well made.
