My new knives - SRK & Buck 119

Post by slingshot » Fri Jul 29, 2011 6:59 pm

Hi folks,

Some time has passed since these two new babies have walked into my heart. Absolutely classic knives. I love the ergonomics of both the knives and the sheer pleasure of holding them is indescribable.

They ride well...on the hip or on the gear. The SRK has a terrible sheath that does an injustice to the beautiful Japanese steel. I am plotting the mods on the sheath. But the Buck 119 leather sheath is a work of great craftsmanship.

I dont think I will be hard using the Buck 119. It is just too sexy for manual labour. But the SRK....now here is a partner for the outdoors :)

I hope you enjoy watching them here....Cheers!

Wohoooo, the SRK's a great partner to your Recon Tanto.... I'm sure it's a great knife, a standard issue to US Navy Seals during their BUDS training, so I've read somewhere. Did you buy this from Saleh. The prices for these puppies have gone up a bit have'nt they ? How much did you shell out 6.5 to 7k for the SRK. ? I've handled one, great great knife. Heartiest congratulations on the purchase Slingshot.

Never ever seen or handled a buck before, you seem to be a big fan :)

P.S: When am I getting my Special Mutton Korma, you had promised :) :) :)

Best Regards
Moin.

Moin, the SRK is a kick ass girlfriend...the kind who will follow me to hell and back...the Buck 119 is the high maintenance girlfriend...the kind who looks good on the arm at a social evening...lol. The Recon Tanto is the Menacing Girlfriend....the kind who looks daggers :)

But my attitude to good knives is like my attitude to good ties. If you like them....get them :)

And the mutton korma, single malt and knife stories are definitely due. Check your PM for my cell number. Please call...and we can get together soon :)

Cheers :)

Hi SS,

Congrats!

I imported three concealable knives one of which was the Boker keyring you showed me when we met.

WHile I loved the 119 limited edition, am currently thinking of a Neito which was in display @ Saleh (forgetting the model no.). It had an oxodised metal finished handle butt.

Hope to catch up soon!

Cheers,
Shadow

Shadow, great meeting you at the knife hunt :) am glad you got the Boker Subcom. It is my current EDC, as it is almost undectectable by the hoi polloi as a knife. It is like carrying a sharp thumb. And though it wont win any prizes in reach, it more than makes up for its stealth and deployment. The steel needs to be loved a bit. I have a dink that need fixing. Cant thank Bruno enough for the chap. Do let us see the others. Did you get the Urban Pal?

Bruno, love the SRK, though you will guess that is a substitute for the sharpened pry bar i have been lusting after :)
Am still looking for the Buck 110. maybe i shall get lu :? cky :) and the harem shall grow

and Silver, thanks for the encouragement :)
