Here are some of the pics of our short but sweet vacation in Kanha National Park. We stayed at the Taj Banjaar Tola Lodge and had a wonderful time. We drove from Nagpur to Mukki which took us 5 hours. We reached Mukki at 2 PM and quickly got ready for the late afternoon safari. We were introduced to our naturalist David and soon enough we were on our way to the park. The gate No.2 of the park is located just a kilometer away from the lodge.
The first day we could not sight a tiger but the other residents of the park were generous enough to pose for the camera. Some of the species we encountered were the spotted deer, sambar, swamp deer, peacocks, Langurs and many more. We sighted lots of birds as well. We sighted a tigress with her 3 cubs the next morning. The cubs were 20 months old and according to our naturalist, they had just started to hunt on their own. The same day, we were informed that another tiger had just killed a wild boar and was feasting on it. Sadly enough, the kill was deep to be accessed by an elephant.
Over all it was a great experience and the staff at the Banjaar Tola Lodge made us feel very welcome and comfortable.
The camera used was my new Canon D500 with a 55-250mm lens.
More pics to follow.

Wow Ashar. Those are fantastic snaps.
Good to see the Tiger.Tiger (still) Burning Bright there.

Ashar: wonderful pics! There is some nice wildlife to view there, and not just the tigers. It looks like a great visit and a great place to see. Looking forward to your videos. I sure would like to visit India once before I die. Maybe for a year?
Thanks for sharing this.

Hi Ashar,
> Great pics - well composed, the Chital sporting good sized antlers, The Gaur and the Tiger.
> Shooting pics with a camera can be more exciting than with a gun!
Cheers

Always wondered how the Gaur manages to keep their stockings so white and clean. What a handsome chap this one is.
Noticed the Cheetal stag (second one) with the broken left antler. Must have broken it in a tough battle.
I once saw a Cheetal with one horn sporting a rather decent harem. Wonder how that fellow managed it.
I thought the camera shook a lot while capturing the tigress. Was it the elephant moving or was it the hands shaking with excitement. The latter happens to me when I am rather close for that "perfect snap" and land up messing everything.
excellent pictures I envy you now Someday I would love to do that. I hope I get as lucky as you to see two tigers on different occasions. Thanks for sharing
