Asif,
That's one thing you have got to teach me as I have zero experience handling snakes.
Pran, you can bet your Bullet it has fangs and venom.

Pran, that is a 'HOT' snake-just captured , from the swamps of Bhitarkanika, orissa for a filming session-we too follow capture and release policy. All this was off camera, where I learnt to handle hot snakes.Fangs, venom , bad temper-this 'lady' king had it all.
Mack The Knife, there's a pal of mine in Bangalore-Mohamed Anis-major snake guru-if he's not filming for some wldlife crew or another, he's catching snakes and releasing in bannergatta wild life park-totally associated with the Wildlife Dept-last time I visited his house, he had close to 150 cobras/russels/kraits ready for release!stays the other side of the railway line-coles road.If you're game, can start you off with him.

Asif,
Thanks for the pic, I just showed it to my middle son who has all the curiosity about snakes. He was as impressed as I!
Personally I have no desire to get that close to one!

Jefe,
Were you trying to fit the queeny king in that pouch or just took it out ?
You really are skilled to handle that.
BTW, what's the trick? If you don't mind me asking, You look really really fitter/slimmer/younger now.
Best-

Asif,
Very, very nice. What was the series that you worked on for Discovery Channel? I'll keep an eye for it over here. DC is one of my favourite television channels to watch.
Cheers!

Vikram-I am out of hyderabad , no AC guards veal and strict non veg diet-lost 30kg in last 4 years.Sane, work out often, tai chi when I can, libations at a bare minimal, smokes down to 3-5 a day ( dont believe Abhijeet and Mack The Knife!!)
That pouch ? usual beltkit-never leave home without it type. That's one angry 9 ft juvenile KC, I have some impressive snaps of a 14-15 foot king who we had nicknamed the Rocket for obvious reasons!
Pran, have never been bitten (thank God) I recognise my limits, had good teachers and there's no bravura involved. My dad got bitten by a checkered keelback- a non venomous water snke, found in abundance near our home close to ulsoor lake , in Bangalore. My bro had a momentary lapse of sanity in his black belt days-used to have 'hot' cobras in a traditional cane basket under his bed ...forunately, he is out of it.
Mehul,
It used to be called O'shea's big adventure, 'revenge of the cobra' etc. I think I feature in front of the camera in an episode too

'AC guards' is a small market in Hyderabad, best veal in the world-I lived on it for 2 years
Became a total non veg-there-plus tonnes of halim and harees and biriyani and -sorry, fingers slipping on the keyboard with all that drool...sad part about leaving Hyderabad.
Yes, I was a 2 pack a day man in hyderabad days!

Jefe,
>never been bitten
And let's hope it stays that way
Do you have antivenom with you when you're handling snakes?
