Here's a few pics of my Grandson Ben with his first gun, a BB Gun. It was a great time for me, starting my grandkids off with teaching them about shooting sports.
Ben gets his birthday present. L to R, Big Ben (my younger son), Ben, and yours truly. I'm not sure which Ben is more excited.
The proud rifleman
Supervision
A trip back from the target, which was a food mixer box safely against the dirt bank of the hillside
Kneeling position
Ben had to try the prone position: It was shown in the instructions that he read before shooting
A few last shots, both gun and camera-wise
Time for dziadzi to go home -- two happy boys!

Awesome Timmy! The pride in that young man's face is unmistakable (not to mention Grandpas face ). Getting your own gun for the first time is a momentous occasion. Another young man setting foot on the proper path.
Since they came out with the the anniversary version of the Red Ryder this year, I bought my nephew one for Christmas too.
This clip always gives me a laugh.

Looking at those pictures gives one a lump in the throat.. Have been thinking about this for quite a while now, my kids are going to be this age in a couple of years and what option do I have?? Importing a BB airgun (with all its hassles) which they will grow out of in a couple of years dosent seem worth the effort! Maybe modifying that Baikal wasnt such a bad idea..

You must have had a growth hormone surge at 7 to be able to mount and shoot a 12b. Did you actually shoot it properly?
