Anybody know where we can get info on the records?

One of my first searches ever on the internet. Most results took me to SCI and similar pages.

I would love to see those records consolidated though one does come across sporadic references and accounts of records like the largest duck shoot at bharatpur with Lord Linlithgow,

Biggest tiger bag Maharaja of Gwalior and followed closely by Datia His highness.

The largest tiger (between the pegs) is a sham record as the higher the rank of the aristocracy, longer the tiger. No viceroy shot a tiger under 10 feet (yeah right)!

Also omitted from the record books are the local tribals like bawarias and shikaris (the caste and profession) who in the 19 century killed tigers/leopards and wolves for a living. In those days the Company sarkar used to pay per big cat or wolf pelt (as a proof of kill, not necessarily trophy) as they were classified as vermin (similar to Africa). A lot of these people killed tigers by hundreds. I know it wasnt hunting but then what do you say of the the shikars on luxury machans sipping single malts and succulent kababs when kids aged 8 shot first tigers. (please also see:)
