Hi guys, recently joined and thought would share some photos. The cat was taken few years ago at mid pennar dam in anantapur district. Used a 12 foot 3 pound test curve rod, 15 pound line and the humble earth worm. From now on will make sure to take camera.cheers.....Catfish

Hi Catfish,
Welcome to IFG and what a bloody small world it is
! As it happens, my dad's native district is Anantapur and I did some of my schooling and Undergrad in Anantapur. We both haven't met but I know you thanks to quite a few common associates. Check your PM later.
That is a super looking fish.Congratulations. I returned empty handed so many times from that place.
Hang around and you will have fun. BTW, do not forget to resize the pic or the RSM is going to get the whip.LOL.
Best-
Vikram

Ten X, I dont visit India, I live here. I was born and brought up here. My parents are of european origin. Wonder how many like me there are. Never used to take a camera, but will do from now. Anantapur is a nice place to fish, been fishing here since I was a boy.

Thanks for sharing Catfish.

Hi Catfish,
Since you are using Photobucket, click on 'edit'. This will take you to the edit page. You then click on 'resize' and give the new size as 640x480 assuming that does not show as a default size already.
Thanks for the invite. You are on. What's more, you are welcome to come fish with me on the WASI stretch. Drop me a line after the first week of January.

Hi guys,
Yaj not sure what the weight was, did not have weighing scale but it did put up quite a fight and it was one hell of an experience since the previous big ones for me were maximum 5 kilos or so. even the fishermen there say they never have caught one that size (cat fish). They regularly get quite large katla and rohu.
Mack The Knife I did resize it to what you request. Would love to fish in a different place since most of my fishing takes place here in anantapur. the only other place I have fished is in kodaikanal when I was a student there and it is nothing like anantapur. will get in touch in jan.
Ten X, thanks for the info and yes anantapur is on the way to hyderabad if u are coming from bangalore. it is 200 km and takes about 3 to four hours depending on how you drive. If u happen to pass throuh, you can drop by.
