Indians For Guns

Can anybody identify a good brand of trekking shoes. i wpould prefer a pair that can also double as walking shoes. your suggestions please

Hi-Tech which is a UK brand and now available in India makes good quality trekking shoes. Very sturdy and comfortable, with leather uppers, it gives good protection against small rocks, thorns and twigs when trekking in the woods or on hilly terrain. Very reasonably priced.

Please consider the following brands
1. Gore-tex
2. The northface
3. Merrell
4. Hi tec

Most of them are not available in india. You do find them in US n UK
If you have someone coming down from Katmandu,
You get the some amazing shoes there
1. Mt everest
2. Uplander.
apart from most of the international brands

1 suggesstion, make sure the shoe has a bumber in the front so that the fabric does not get damaged when you hit a rock and that the toe covering should have a rubber top. most of the water seeps in through the front, with the rubber top, the water doesnt get in.

A long time ago, I had bought a North Star Hunter, which was a water-proof pair that lasted me for over a decade and around 35 treks (including Himalayas). Not the most good looking, decently comfortable.. but was a grip I could trust anytime on all terrain

I tried locating the same a few years back, but could not find any. I then got myself a Nike 'ACG' which is lasting pretty well, and is extremely comfortable. I have also heard some good reviews on Woodland shoes...
