do you guys think hunting will ever ever ever allowed in india....?

It is allowed (though very rare) from time to time when required to control wildlife population ( which starts destroying crops or damage other property)

If licenced hunting is introduced in India then there would be few licenced hunters and more illegal pochers

Not true, one has only to see the examples all over Africa (and in fact the world) to see how sustainable legal hunting can be successfully used as a tool for conservation.

i agree with mundaire.If a developing country like Kenya or other countries of Africa can assure legal hunting and wildlife population conservation togather why the hell cant Mera Bharat Mahan which on the world forum is a better developed country .I for one am for hunting ban to be lifted.

As far as I know there is no hunting in Kenya, though talks of lifting the ban keeps going on. Kenya is a perfect example to quote for disadvantages of banning Hunting. I read a report once that Kenya lost a big population of Elephants after hunting ban whereas population of Elephants grew manyfolds in Tanzania even after allowing Legal trophy hunting.

i find this a little upsetting as it implies that all Indian citizen are law breakers for one and for second one is forgetting that those who have licence to hunt will be more aware of poachers and would be able to inform the game keepers etc. thus licence holders are going to be more anti poaching then the Government. As one does not want ones trophy / meat to end up with some one who does not pay for it.

Just because we get THRILLED by killing a living being ?
So that WE can BOAST about our Shooting Skills and DARE Devilry ? by killing ?
Aren't there other ways where WE can proove our superiority ?
Is Killing the only to be a Best Shooter ?

Sagar, I think a lot of people recognise in hunting a deeply satisfying encounter with Nature in the raw, and a chance to deal with issues of Life and Death and Violence etc....all the socially unacceptable but biologically unavoidable aspects of masculinity. Better to shoot a Moose and sell its meat or in my case shoot a rat and chuck it over the wall, than to go out beating people up and raping innocent women. I mean, look at me, since I started shooting rats, I've hardly mugged anyone....

do yo protect animals, i mean actively protact them? do you care for their welfare? do you know what happens when lets say lion population increases? do you know what happens when elephant population increasee?
do you know that humans needs are greater then amimals?

mature hunting is more then thrills, thrills can be had by driving fast and mowing down people(one should not do that) proving superiority is not the issue or the point.
to be best shooter you do not have to hunt.
boasting in not the issue or the need.

the point is sagar, how many hunter do you know? and where do they hunt?

man you ought to come to my part of the world, we DO NOT chuck rats over the wall.

we use little bamboo shoot and little chily and boil the critter, and eat it with rice. yammy man

With me, it's not about killing at all, (lucky it's not:) but I'm still out there, rain or shine, glaring into the ambient light. I think it's the same for a lot of people who shoot live targets; they're as happy if they shoot something as if they don't, as long as they get the chance to get out in the fresh air, to see and listen closely to nature. And if they chance to take some wild beast using skill and savvy, well that's just a cherry on the top! I think you'll find hunters are some of the most gentle people around, with humans, which is after all, where it counts. Or are you for equality for all species?

I've been spoiled by living in Goa. With so many superb international restaurants nearby, I think hardly anyone here would consider a rat an adequate supper.
