Sunday's fishing trip with Pran.

After one cancellation and not knowing when my wife would return from Bombay, I was finally able to confirm with Pran that we were on for the next day.
The conditions did not look all that bad and Pran made the most of it whilst it lasted to bag himself five fish. Three murrel and two mahseer, in that order.
In the meanwhile, I had three strikes but the lure got spat out each and every time. However, I finally managed to hook a mahseer before lunch and it gave a good account of itself despite its size.
After lunch we plugged for mahseer along the canal but the fish did not show any interest.
We switched to ledgering from the coracle but this too proved to be futile as it had started raining. When the rain stopped we ledgered from another point and I got myself another mahseer. This too put up a decent fight for its size but really did not stand a chance considering the tackle I have been using lately.
However, this must have been a lucky catch because the action just died after that. We switched to spinning for murrel in the last one hour but besides one strike on Pran's lure that could not be converted, the fish just weren't interested in our wares.
